Hi all. I am feeling a bit conflicted. My landlord offered me the possibility to move into park model that is probably close to twice as big as the 5th Wheel I am in now without changing what I pay for rent. Pros: > It's larger > It's in a nice mobile home park > It has a heat pump AC unit Cons: > It's further away from friends and other people I know > It's at the end of a fairly long street in the mobile home park where the speed limit is 10 MPH > I don't know anyone in the mobile home park I've already had to move once about three weeks ago due to a leaking water heater. Thankfully, the new place was right next door to my old place. I say, "was", because my old place has been removed (sold). Also, I intend to move to Tucson in 5 to 7 months time. On top of that, there's already a bit of turmoil in my life. Long story. That said, would you consider moving to a bigger place or just wait things out in a small home knowing you are going to move eventually anyway?

I contacted a professional musician who composes electronic music and has been active since the 80s as a fan a couple of weeks ago. I merely wanted to compliment him on one of his songs as it was particularly beautiful and had a chord sequence similar to a song I composed many years ago. Other than that chord sequence, the songs were completely different. Long story short, I also showed him my fractal art. He liked it so much that he asked if I'd do some for him. I said, "Sure!" He then asked about doing fractal animation for snippets of a few of his songs. Some of his songs are quite long! Even the one I referenced above is over 20 minutes! I accepted the challenge. In fact, my PC is busy rendering the nearly 5800 frames for the animation. I wish I had a dedicated GPU as it's taking longer than I'd like to render, but the good thing is that he has no time constraint at the moment. I don't want to say who he is, but I'll say that he's based in Germany. On a related note, if you have not heard Early Water by Michael Hoenig and Manuel Göttsching, it's awesome! Well worth a listen! However, wait until you have a long time slot available as it's 48 minutes long!

Speaking of new projects, I started work on the main characters of the Magium adventure series last month. Although I am doing it for pleasure, I am in contact with the developer. I have completed drafts of two characters so far; Barry (the half-lesathi) and Daren (aka Healer in Armor). Note that I have not used any props yet and Daren is not currently wearing armor. However, his scar is there. That was a challenge. Barry's hair and their clothes were also challenging to get to look real as opposed to a plastic action figure. I'm still not altogether happy with Barry's hair, but it looks much better than it did at first. I am using Daz Studio Pro (a freemium 3D character modeling app) to create these. Being that my budget is very limited, I am also using Genesis 2 figures as that is the latest one that includes face and body morphs without having to purchase them separately. I'm also trying to find free stuff on sharecg.com and renderosity.com to use for props. I have not been able to find armor just yet. At least not that would fit the books' description. I have decided to do the main characters in order of appearance. Therefore, Eiden (the Stillwater) is next in line. However, I have taken a break to do a re-work of a scene with two characters in it that I did several years ago. It's shaping up to look much better than it did. I had to redo the lighting as well as the clothing for one of the characters. I shifted gears because I think doing this will help me with the Magium characters in the long run. There are going to be many challenges ahead as there are twelve main characters. Well, ten, really. However, one person has a banshee fused with her soul and there's a dragon. There are several other, but they play more supporting roles and the story isn't centered around them. Magium is a great series if you like fantasy in a classic RPG type setting. The characters are very well thought ought and you really grow to care about what happens to them. It is a choose your own adventure series. Thus, you get to make choices every so often that can have significant effects on how the story proceeds. Please let me know what you think of my work . . . and be honest. I accept constructive criticism. If you know how I can make something look better, let me know. Thanks! Barry Daren
