I've been lurking in an AI art group on Facebook for a few months now. I recently started searching for a free and/or open source text to image generator and stumbled upon two. NightCafe and Wombo Dream. Of the two, the Android app version of Wombo Dream is far superior in my opinion. Though NightCafe is interesting. Many of the ones used in the FB group require you to pay to do more than a few "renders".
Below is a Reptilian series that I did in Dream. Though I did switch styles now and then, the AI seemed to arbitrarily switch from more lizard-like creations to humanoid Reptilians after the first few "renders".
Have any of you guys tried this stuff? Is there another you'd recommend?
Also, what is your opinion of AI art? Is it cheating?
It may be cheating, but who is worried if the finished artwork is like this. I love it I consider a lot of my work is cheating because I often use open domain images for rendering purposes
