I'm glad you told me. I saw this animation on Twitter and didn't understand the controversy behind it. Most USA citizens don't know what a "jab" is since we call it a "shot".
During the pandemic, we had been visiting Tesco every week because they seemed to look after the older customer better. A few years back, Dot slipped on some cleaning fluid left on the floor by the cleaning contractors. She was rushed into hospital but was not badly hurt. We got a couple of thousand pounds in compensation
@Craig Long Lots of people make a lot of money like that, but I was not going to sue until I got very bad service from customer service when I went back to the shop to collect the shopping we had paid for. They had lost it and refused to deliver it when they could find it. It was one of the few times I have lost my temper in public.
I had the misfortune to work for abovementioned store...!! :0(
How difficult could it be to stack shelves with bread...? They are so full of B/shit..
And extremely rude.. The store manager at the time didn't even have the manners to greet/acknowledge you..
My co-worker & i where told by admin, that we had to change our work hrs, going from early morning to late afternoon/evenings & that if we didn't comply..then bye bye..!!
(At this time i was hubbies carer also as he was sick)
Thankfully co/w & i found other jobs, & had great delight in handing in our notice!! Even greater delight when admin then pleaded with us to stay.. To which we both cried NO😂..
So I've been trying to boycott them for a while now.. except it's a bit difficult when it's been the only store around, untill a lidl was built last yr..
Glad to hear Dot was ok after this mishap..& not badly hurt.. :0)
Our Tesco is brilliant, and we always go early morning Saturday. We like the granary bread and the assistant nearly always has to get it from the store for us, this week we did not have to ask because she brought it up to our trolley. The staff seem to get on with each other (our next door neighbour is a manager there) and are extremely friendly. Dot has a couple of checkout girls she likes to have a chinwag with.
We have a Sainsbury that we also use occasionally, it has a good range of clothing and other hardware, but the clientèle seem to be posher.
My favourite is Morrisons, which is 5 miles in the other direction from us, it is much smaller but the customers all seem to be very eccentric and love to talk and joke with each other. They also stock a superb variety of Ouzo

@Dave Sutton I should try that phony scheme sometime. 😁

The only thing I have to add at the moment is a quote:
""I don't belong here", said old Tessa out loud
- thankful for her discount,
Still alone in o-Hell-o - see the deadly nightshade grow" -Peter Gabriel: Aisle of Plenty by Genesis
