You should see all the commuters off to work in my county, a lot have umbrellas, the small fold up one are very fashionable. It tends to rain without any warning over here.
Not many umbrellas here in California except some women have parasols. Not much rain and we are in a drought condition. People wear caps to keep the sun off although most professionals are indoors all the time.
An umbrella +walking sticks are a bit of a nightmare for me..😣 + with slugs thrown in to ensemble too..!!
I've had the misfortune to put both sticks on slugs (it was dark!!) on a drizzly night, & ended up in a heap on the floor.!!
But as Dave said they are part of our mysterious life with the weather..!!😉
It's quite a funny people watching show, when commuters in our busy little world are marching off to work.. !!!😂
(Personally i prefer a proper waterproof coat)..
As for the weather here.. It's warmish, cloudy, & looks as though it's going to rain..but hey.. thats the delightful english weather ..!! Without fail, it likes to keep us wondering.. 🌂
(As i write, the sun has just started to shine..!!?? How long wiil it last...😂)
On my early morning walk I rarely wear a coat in the Summer but have a plastic bin bag in my back pocket which I use as a poncho if it does decide to rain. One day, an old woman walking in front of me had her plastic bag full of groceries split open, and her shopping fell onto the ground. Quick as a flash, I whipped my bin bag out, put all her shopping into it and carried it down the road for her. It was my white knight in shining armour moment, but I do wonder what she must have thought of some dodgy old boy with a black bin bag in his back pocket was about.
It a windy, dusty morning here in Yuma. Heading to the foothills, I could barely make out the mountains to the east. It's going to be 107°F on Monday, but a much cooler 99°F on Tuesday. With low humidity, that should feel pretty comfortable.
On the news they predict a heat wave, my weather app tells me to expect 20 C , just right for sitting in the garden (If Dot doesn't tell me to mow the grass or weed the flower beds)
@Dave Sutton@David Lazarus My only computer, the laptop I have presently, is getting a battery bulge. The surface is lifting up so I assume it's a battery problem. I'm taking it to the shop soon so I may be down for a week. Don't worry about my whereabouts if I don't show up for a while.
I don't think I've seen a man with an umbrella except when it rains.

Put your bikini on and plenty of sun tan lotion and all will be fine
@Dave Sutton I like yours better!💋 I remember your G+ posts.

Yuma, Arizona?
Yes, why do you ask?
My Grandmother loved Lawrence Welk. I remember Jo Ann Castle:

Love it...Love it... Fantastic music, but she does smile like a "Thunderbirds are go" puppet
