Though I was given an oral 30 days notice on the phone last Tuesday, I requested and received a written 30 days notice on October 9. I have to find another home before then. The real kicker is that snowbird season has started. Right now, they are only trickling in, but it's going to be more than a trickle by the end of the month. I'm on a fixed income right now and cannot afford to pay $1000+ in rent. My current rent is $600. I have a lead or two. However, one is in a mobile home park that doesn't get great ratings on Google and the other is owned by people who won't be in town until about Oct 20.
How did this happen? It's a long story. However, the short version is that the land and most of the properties on it were bought by another company in June. They don't want to sublease. So, even though my landlord would be willing to let me stay, she has to sell the place. Why can't I stay if she sells it? That's the long story.
I'm really distraught right now as I don't have a heck of a lot of time and I don't want to end up being homeless. Sadly, I kind of need to stay in the AZ at least because my education is being sponsored by Arizona @ Work (an affiliate of the Department of Economic Security). Any thoughts?
