Things have not gone well for her, she has had Covid, it rained solidly for a month in Tahiti, and on returning home she discovered that her basement was partly flooded due to a mains leak. She is in the middle of sorting this all out and has had an estimate of $15000 to rectify the damage which the insurance only partly covers. Once she is back to normal, she promises to send a love letter to Craig.

@Dave Sutton @David Lazarus My water value looks like this. If you don't pay your water bill then the city can padlock it so that you can't turn the water back on.

She should have turned the water off at the street valve. When you are away you shouldn't leave your plumbing pressurized.
I'm glad that she is able to get around still. She is approaching 90 years of age I believe. She is remarkable!
She was so careful in taking precautions to not get Covid and yet she got it. Goes to show just get the vaccine and not worry about catching Covid.
Well, that's dreadful news! Yeah, insurance companies don't pay nearly enough. Especially considering how much we pay them. IMO, that should be covered 100%
